While both focus on comfort and quality of life, palliative care can be provided at any stage of a serious illness alongside curative treatments. Hospice care is specifically for those with a life-limiting illness—typically with a prognosis of six months or less—where the focus shifts exclusively to comfort, symptom management, and emotional support, without the pursuit of curative measures.

 Hospice care is organized into four levels of care as defined by Medicare standards to meet the changing needs of patients. We provide these four levels:

 Routine Home Care (RHC): This is the most common level of care, where services are provided in the patient’s home to manage symptoms and support comfort.

 General Inpatient Care (GIP): Short-term care provided in a professional facility when pain or symptoms are too severe to be managed at home.

 Continuous Home Care (CHC): Care provided in the home during brief periods of crisis to help the patient remain at home when medical needs are acute.

 Respite Care (RC): A temporary, short-term benefit provided in a professional nursing facility to offer relief for primary caregivers.

Hospice is available to individuals who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness and whose physician has determined that their life expectancy is approximately six months or less if the disease follows its expected course. It is a choice made by the patient and their family to prioritize comfort and quality of time over aggressive, curative treatments.
